Project Overview

SEI Roofing was instructed to carry out a complete roof replacement at a residential property in Allenton, Derby. The existing roof had reached the end of its serviceable life and required stripping back to the rafters before installing a completely new roofing system.

The Challenge

The existing roof showed significant signs of age and weathering, with deteriorated ridge details and extensive moss build-up. A full replacement was required to provide a durable, low-maintenance roofing solution while improving the overall appearance of the property.

Our Solution

Our team erected scaffolding and safely removed the existing roof covering back to the original roof rafters. New EPS eaves trays were installed, followed by a breathable roofing membrane and new treated roof battens to create a modern, ventilated roofing system.

The roof was then finished with new natural roof tiles together with a mechanically fixed dry ridge and dry hip system, providing improved weather resistance and reducing future maintenance requirements.

Materials Used

  • EPS eaves trays
  • Breathable roofing membrane
  • 25mm × 50mm treated roof battens
  • Natural roof tiles
  • Dry ridge system
  • Dry hip system

The Result

The completed installation has transformed the property's appearance while delivering a modern roofing system designed for long-term performance. The new natural tiled roof provides improved protection from the elements together with the benefits of mechanically fixed ridge and hip systems, offering greater durability and lower maintenance than traditional mortar-bedded alternatives.
