Roof Replacement in Linton, Derbyshire

SEI Roofing completed a full roof replacement on this property in Linton, Derbyshire, replacing the ageing plain tile roof while also improving the insulation and ventilation of the roof space.

The existing roof covering was carefully stripped back, including removal of the old battens, allowing the underlying roof structure to be exposed and assessed before the new roofing system was installed.

As part of the work, insulation was upgraded where required. Particular attention was given to the sloping ceiling areas, where rigid insulation board was installed while maintaining a 50mm ventilation gap. This allows air to continue to circulate beneath the roof covering and helps prevent the insulation from restricting airflow.

The ventilation system included over-fascia ventilation, felt support trays and Manthorpe rafter roll-out trays. These were installed before the roofing membrane to maintain a clear ventilation path and prevent loft insulation from pressing against the membrane and obstructing airflow.

The roof was then prepared and finished using Ashmore concrete interlocking tiles, providing a smart, durable new roof covering. The completed works also included detailing around the chimney and roof junctions to provide a neat, weather-resistant finish.

The result is a completely renewed roof with improved insulation and ventilation, combining traditional-looking roofing with a modern roofing system designed for long-term performance.
